Frequently asked questions

How long does it take for items to ship?

Typically orders placed by 12PM CST Monday-Saturday ship the very next day, with a few exceptions. Please allow 1-2 extra business days for shipping if you choose to personalize an item.

How do I place an order for a personalized item?

1. Near the top of each listing you'll see a "Add your personalization (optional)" drop-down menu.
2. Expand this menu and type what text you would like engraved into the text field. Maximum characters allowed varies depending on the product but it is listed below the lower-right hand corner of the text field.
3. Double check your spelling if personalizing :-)
4. Once you've added your personalization, simply click "Add To Cart" and proceed through checkout.

*If you're using the older version of Etsy for mobile, you may not see the "Add your personalization" menu, in which case you can add the personalization you would like to to "Note To Seller" during checkout.

The item I'm interested in says "Inlaid", what does that mean?

Many of our items are inlaid with UV resistant epoxy resin. This is a process of engraving the artwork deep into the hardwood which creates a void. Then epoxy resin is mixed with mica powders to make the desired color and then it is poured into the engraving. It takes 24 hours for the resin to "set" (harden), and then the item is sanded flush with the wood. This removes the excess resin and reveals the beautifully detailed resin filled engraving.

The item I'm interested in is made out of "Curly Maple", what is this?

Curly Maple is one of our favorite hardwoods to use in our custom made items. It is a hard, dense wood that is perfect for engraving and inlaying.

It is one of the most popular woods that is used in high-end guitar making. Curly Maple is a rare wood; less than 2% of Maple trees are classified as "Curly Maple". This is due to it's most unique characteristic; the 'wavy' effect in the wood grain. As you hold a finished piece of Curly Maple in your hand and move it in the light, the wood grains appear to move, almost like waves on the water.

How are your items made?

We are a family run business, located in North-Eastern Alabama. We pay especially close attention to detail when selecting our exotic hardwoods to ensure we use only the highest quality wood available. 100% of the unique items we offer are handcrafted by my wife and I.

Will the inlaid necklaces fade in the sun?

Absolutely not! We use a premium UV resistant epoxy resin to do our inlays. This protects the vivid colors of the inlays from the damaging UV rays that would cause colors to fade.

Can your necklaces get wet?

Yes! All of our products are first sealed with two saturation coats of water-resistant premium shellac, and then finished with multiple thin coats of water-resistant lacquer. You can wear our necklaces in the shower, chlorinated pools, the ocean, etc 😁

What makes your wood necklaces different than your competition on Etsy?

Simply put: The durable and high quality finish we apply to our handcrafted items. The majority of wooden necklaces you see online are finished with some form of oil (orange oil, linseed oil, tung oil, etc). While these are decent finishes, they're not particularly suited for everyday wear. The acids in your skin will quickly break down the oils, leaving the necklace looking dull and faded after just a few short weeks.

We finish our necklaces with two coats of premium shellac (to make them water-resistant), and then multiple light coats of lacquer. We lightly sand the pendants between each coat of finish, and then polish them to a high-luster shine.

Not only is the finish beautiful, it provides much more durability for everyday wear.
